The Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital has been providing professional veterinary services to the community since 1995. Designed by SQC Architecture, the current premises were completed in 2002. Due to the professional and quality service provided, the Hospital has continued to grow in patient and staff numbers. In response to this growth SQC Architecture was engaged to design, document and superintend extensions to the existing facilities.
The brief was to create a new Cat Practice to the South-Western corner of the block and retain the existing facilities as a Dog Practice with extended staff amenities to the first-floor level. These works are to take place while the Hospital is in full 24hr operation making the construction methodology and coordination critical. SQC Architecture have worked closely with the client to appreciate the important needs of both clients and their pets and the hospital staff. This has produced an efficient, light-filled and welcoming design. Stage 1 is due for completion in early 2018.
